Wayne County Amateur Radio Club
BY-LAWS
MEMBERSHIP: Applications for membership shall be submitted at regular meetings.
• Regular Membership is open to FCC-licensed Amateur Radio operators holding a valid, current license regardless of age. Regular membership includes all club privileges with the following exception: Regular Members under the age of 18 are not eligible to hold Club office or to vote on matters of a contractual or legally binding nature.
• Associate Membership is open to all other persons having an interest in pursuing the goals and objectives of the Club. Associate Members are not eligible to hold office or vote on Club matters.
MEETINGS: Regular meetings shall be held on one day of each calendar month at such place as the President shall order. Special meetings may be called by the President upon the written request of any three club members. Notice shall be sent to members concerning special meetings and the business to be transacted. Such notices shall be sent so that in the ordinary postal delivery they arrive not less than twenty four hours before the meeting time.
FUND RAISING: The Wayne County Amateur Radio Club conducts fund raising activities as follows:
• Solicitation of donations
• Raffles
• Pancake breakfasts, golf tournaments, and other fund raising events permitted by law
• Membership dues
The Club may establish a schedule of dues reflecting differences in classification of members; e.g. age, or membership in Club-affiliated organizations such as Scouting.
No part of the net earnings of the Wayne County Amateur Radio Club shall inure to the benefit of, or be distributed to its members, trustees, officers, or other private persons, except that the WCARC shall be authorized and empowered to pay reasonable compensation for services rendered and to make payments and distributions in furtherance of the purposes described in section 501(c)(3).
No substantial part of the activities of the Wayne County Amateur Radio Club shall be the carrying on of propaganda, or otherwise attempting to influence legislation, and the Wayne County Amateur Radio Club shall not participate in, or intervene in (including the publishing or distribution of statements) any political campaign on behalf of or in opposition to any candidate for public office.
Notwithstanding any other provision of these articles, the Wayne County Amateur Radio Club shall not carry on any other activities not permitted to be carried on (a) by an Association exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code, or (b) by an Association, contributions to which are deductible under section 170(c)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code.
BUDGETS:
From information gathered from the previous year and income from existing membership, the Club’s Officers shall develop a proposed Budget of recurring expenditures for the following fiscal year (April 1 st to March 31 st ). This budget shall be presented to and voted on by the membership at the March or next regular meeting.
DISSOLUTION: Upon the dissolution of this organization, assets shall be distributed for one or more exempt purposes within the meaning of section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or corresponding section of any future federal tax code, or shall be distributed to the federal government, or to a state or local government, for a public purpose.
